Thanksgiving Week Blitz – Jason Hirsch
Just came off a week getaway with my family. Spent most of our time in Anaheim, CA. Angel (my wife) had a teachers convention, so……….. me and my four children utilized the time to have a blast together, while she was sitting in meetings. Over the last 5 years my family has become more strategic in making sure we getaway from the monotony of life, even if it’s just for a few days. I’m very thankful for strategic getaways! How about you?
Here’s a quick re-cap:
1. Sunday night we drove to Anaheim, CA, & settled into our hotel. Was upgraded to a suite when they saw all my children. I think it also worked to the hotel’s advantage.
2. Found dog poop on the floor of our hotel. Nasty!! Thought I might get some perks because of it, but the upgrade was the perk. Sort of……I guess!?
3. While Angel was having death by meeting, Monday we woke up leisurely, went and had breakfast, spent most of the afternoon pool-side, and then I took my children to see Disney’s “A Christmas Carol”. Just OK! Ate at Red Robin for dinner, followed by hooking up with some friends by the pool. Oh, Juilia was invited by some friends to go to Disneyland. Juilia always seems to get hooked-up, so she went. I call it God’s favor!!!
4. Tuesday – B-fast, pool-side, picked-up Angel after convention, and headed to Rialto, CA, where we ate at Applebees, and hooked up with our good friends the Hoover’s. Stayed up late!!!
5. Wednesday, Carl’s Jr & coffee. Then Disneyland!!!
6. Thursday – Happy T-giving. Then Disneyland!!! Had turkey both days, and expecting some more today. Good times!! Official season pass holders – was blessed with a little $$$$ discount perk from some friends.
7. Friday – Las Vegas bound, followed by Christmas decorating night at our home. Very tired!! I know your heart must hurt for us?!:)
8. Message prep!! Final week of “This is only a Test”. Tomorrow – Week 4 – “The Final Exam”.
Families……..Get away & play. Why? Life can be fast & hard, and I promise you, promise you, your children will never forget the memories that you created for them & with them. It will be one of your legacy’s that will live on. My father did it for me, and now I’m doing it for my children. You do the same!!!
Living like no other so we can live like no other family, and enjoy our time together! Families make the hard choices now so they get easier for your family. Our kids seem to be growing up so fast soon they will be gone. We have to make time to be together! Awesome Pastor!
Mike, that is key…..Making time to be together. Make a plan, and stick to it. If you fail to plan out time with your family, plan to fail with your family. Time + family = Family Time!!:}
