Connection Sunday

I’ve been waiting for Connection Sunday for some time. Connection Sunday is a time in which the church is brought together for the purpose of connecting people into relationships. I believe Christianity summed up is “Relationships”.

We had over 60 people tonight! I never anticipated that we would have that many people participate. It was a blast! I think any time you get that many people together, it can really create an energy, and if you work it right, boy you can have a fun time!

A couple insights into what made tonight a success:

1. Pre-planning – Fail to plan, plan to fail! A lot of time and energy went into making tonight a success. It paid off!

2. Volunteerism – without people serving and playing there roll, tonight wouldn’t have happened. We’re only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. It’s teams that win games, not lone-rangers.

3. Child-care – never plan an event without child-care, because people won’t come if you don’t have it. It might cost, but it’s worth it, and will pay off in the long-run.

4. Food – people rally around food. Who doesn’t like to eat? The food was great, thanks pizza villa!

5. Environment – Tables were decorated, candles were lit, music set the atmosphere. Never under-estimate how important creating the right environment is.

6. Play together – I know that sounds funny for adults, but I’ve always believed that people that can laugh and have fun together, can accomplish so much more in the long run. We had ice-breakers, raffles, etc…

Last but not least:

7. M & M’s – If you attended our connection night, you know what I mean.

I’m open to suggestions for the future, or insights on what I’ve stated. All I know is, I look forward to the next one! Thank you Mike & Debbie Wolford & Frank & Suzzie Villanueva – you guys rocked!!:;)
