Got Gas??

Gas sucks, or should I say the price of gas? It just seems like yesterday when gas prices were $1.80. Gone!! It cost me $72 to fill up my Ford Taurus yesterday. My dad told me to never let the tank move past half way, that way it doesn’t seem so bad when you fill up. Still sucks!

In spite of all of all the fuming (no-pun intended:)), we still need the resource. Right! Without gas, we couldn’t get to work, or least not very fast. Without gas we couldn’t fly to distant countries. Without gas, I wouldn’t have ever got to meet some pretty cool people. Let’s face it, we need gas to go! But what happens when you run out of gas? You stall, become stranded!

Lately, my gas warning light has been coming on & unless I fill-up I will have no ability to move forward. Sounds simple, right? Not so easy! I must confess I don’t like pit-stops, slow-downs, or sitting still. But there’s one problem with that – God has commanded it & Jesus modeled it. I’m left no other option than to get gas!

Here’s my plan!!

1. One full day weekly dedicated to seeking the Lord in quiet. Maybe my office, maybe Red Rock, any suggestions??

2. One week at the end of July to to get away with family. Thanks to friends!

3. Intentionally scheduling retreats & vacations a year in advance. I’m terrible at this, but my wife is making me. It’s a good thing!

4. Exercising! I’ve purchased a health club membership, and I’m starting to sit and spin (ride a bike), and I’m also starting my running regime again. I must say, it’s very refreshing!

Any other suggestions for me? I’m growing in this area, and really need God & others to help me get to the gas pump of renewal, and get gas!

Got gas? Is the a question I should answer? Ha, Ha!!!!

Ride a bike to work/church a few days a week. Don’t worry about the sweat smell. That is what the bottle of cologne is for. You get exercise, save gas, and can refuel yourself with God all at the same time!

Nice! I like it, and actually will probably take your advice. I will have to cross Blue Diamond (an infamous road here in vegas), but I can peddle pretty fast. Ha, ha!

Play more golf! Now why didn’t I think of that Jonathan? That has made my list & should have been on the top of it. Marvelous tip! Thanks dude!
