Staycation

We’ll Monday started our staycation, and we went to Mt. Charleston.  Had a great time!

Tuesday, we officially closed on our house, and received our keys at 12 Noon.  Much prayer has gone into making that day occur.  God is faithful!

Well it didn’t take us long to get the ball rolling.  Literally, Tuesday night began the frenzy, and it hasn’t stopped yet.  We started ripping out carpet, padding, and tack down, down stairs.  That was Tuesday night!

Wednesday, through some connections, we were able to hire a family of Mexicans to paint the house from top to bottom.  Ok, I admit I was nervous at first, but they did an amazing job, and had everything done by 3:00 P.M.  – It cost us only $1500 to have the entire house painted, base-boards, and even the garage.  Paint was included in the cost.  The paint job was amazing!

I spent Wednesday after the painters had gone, most of the night tearing up linoleum.  That is not easy stuff to tear up, I’m still cramping from that job.

Today I continued tearing out linoleum.  We had multiple bids coming in for flooring install.  We picked out carpet, pergo, and natural slate tile.   I bet I lifted well over 2000 pounds of tile today.  Thanks to Troy Hoovers truck I was able to haul a tone of stuff.  You rock Troy!

Tomorrow/Friday, I haul more tile, and start hauling boxes from our garage to the new house.  The tile install begins tomorrow as well.  We’ll pray!

Lastly, I’m on a mission because I have 18 days before I leave for Bolivia, and I want to make sure the family is moved in before I leave.  Trying my best!
