Home!

Well, we closed on our house today.  Very excited!  We hope to have keys on Friday.  Now the fun begins!

We will give our lease agent 30 days notice, and we’ll begin moving everything over to our new home.  Once we get everything moved out, the cleaning & painting begins on the rental.   Yes, we have to have our rental house cleaned and painted.  They told us in order for us to get our deposit, and pet deposit back, the house has to look the same as when we moved in.  4 children, a Great Dane, and a year and half later you can only imagine the work we have cut out for ourselves.  Game on!

We were going to leave for vacation on Monday, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.  Let’s call it a “Stay-cation” instead, because I’m going to stay home and get us moved in, and start working on the transition between homes.

The new home is going to require some work as well.  The prior owners must have owned “Bob-Cats, or at least animal’s with urinary tract dysfunction.  The place smells like +)_[-09!!  So we’re going to rip out carpet, and hopefully lay some tile down.  The inside of the house needs a nice paint-job as well, so we’ll add that to the to do list.  When all is said and done, what is more important is that we call it home.  I’m really looking forward to that!

I would like to put a pool in at some point.  I know that pools can be crazy expensive, but I’m willing to dig a hole & do any manual labor necessary to get the job done.   If any of you know a great pool company or have connections to a pool person, let me know.
