A Holy Challenge!!!

HOLINESS. THE CHRISTIAN’S JOINT VENTURE WITH GOD. “Be holy, for I am holy,” commands God to His people. But holiness is something that is often missed in the lives of so many that call themselves Christ Followers. Often times it is because we’re not exactly sure what our part in holiness is.

Epic Men’s Mentoring Initiative is reading for the month of May, “The Pursuit of Holiness”, by Jerry Bridges.  It will absolutely help you see clearly,  just what you should rely on God to do, and what you should accept responsibility for personally. Whether you’ve been on the journey of pursuing holiness, or just beginning, the principles and guidelines in The Pursuit of Holiness will challenge you to obey God’s command of holiness.  I believe this is a must read for every follower of Christ!!

Now, here’s a personal challenge that I’ve given the men, and I extend it to you.  I’ve asked the men to journal for 7 days, on their greatest area of temptation.  Everyday, they’re to journal about their greatest struggle, and take at least 15 minutes a day, for 7 days, to pray for victory over the area they’re struggling with.  On top of that, I’ve asked them to seek out scripture/bible verses, or stories, dealing with their greatest area of temptation, and write the scriptures down.  The goal?  Breaking free & becoming Holy in the area that they’re really wrestling with. Can you hear Mel Gibson yelling out “FREEDOM”?

I don’t think Holiness is just a man thing, I think it’s an everybody thing! I would highly encourage you to read, journal, and watch God do the miraculous.  After all, God does command us to be Holy!!  Will you give it a shot??
