Dirt

black-dirt

Dirt is the first word that came to my mind today, and that’s exactly how I feel. Like dirt! Maybe I’m getting sick? Gabe (my youngest son) woke up crying of a headache and now has a fever and is vomiting. Oh the joys of life!!!:)

I won’t always feel like dirt, and I”m not going to draw any needless analogies on dirt, other than if I was created from it, I’m having a very nice bonding moment with my original form. Nice huh!!!

Yesterday I spent my day prepping for Epic Men’s Mentoring Group, which met in my home for 4 hours last night.

We ate, I taught a lesson on relationships, we discussed the book “Become a People Person” by John C. Maxwell, and then we wrapped the night up with prayer on our knees. You would think 4 hours would be long enough to accomplish everything, but man time flies. It definitely never gets old when men gather for true fellowship and rich discussion.

Every month the men have to read a particular book I pick & it’s strategic to the topic for the month. So far we’ve covered leadership, disciplines, cultivating people skills, and next month vision. Each month as well the men are assigned a project to do between the meetings. One project was learning to fast and pray – we did a 3 day fast. Last month we all were assigned to write 5 letters of encouragement, mail them formally to individuals. The point – learn to look outside yourself & learn to value people enough to appreciate & encourage them. Next month – the men have all been assigned to draft a life mission statement. I’ve given them some tools to help get them going. When we gather, they will read their life mission statement to everyone. Yep, neck out on that one!!! What a blast!!! Most people go through life never understanding their God given mission. What is yours?

OK, I’m going to clean up vomit now!:(

could I have a backstage look at the materials that you’re creating for this? I’d love to do something similar with some of the college students I’m working with.

    Curtis,

No problem! What is your e-mail address, and I’ll send you through material that I’m using. Are you a Mac or PC??
