I just arrived back from a 3 day summit with Dr. Maxwell. I’m sure you know who he is? Maybe you’ve read a few of his books? His specialty is Leadership, but just because you read his books doesn’t make you a great, or even a good leader. Trust me, I know! It sure doesn’t hurt to read his material though, and you’ll definitely learn many things from his teachings.
Word on the street has it that Johns written over 40 books, and is one of the top 10 authors of the 20th century. I’ve not read even half of those books, but I’ve probably read a dozen. You can go to amazon.com punch in his name and I promise you’ll find his books. Give it a shot!
In 2003 Dr. John C. Maxwell and his global leadership organization (Equip), out of Atlanta, Ga, launched what is known as the “Million Leaders Mandate”. The goal, 1 million leaders, trained and equipped by 2006. Well, by God’s grace, the number now sits at just over 3 million.
John spoke the other night on prayer, and he would say that 90% of what he’s learned & accomplished over the years is due to his personal prayer life. Wow, the power of prayer!
As the church advances to fulfill the “Great Commission”, he asked that we prayer for 4 things…..
1. For Wisdom – Godly wisdom. He feels like he’s way over his head. “If your over your your head, it doesn’t matter how deep it is!”
2. Favor – among the nations.
3. Protection – financially, physically, and morally.
4. The Anointing – without the anointing of God, you’re merely straitening the chairs on the deck of the Titanic.
Let’s pray together, and never forget that God will do exceeding abundantly, above all that we could ever think or ask. We’ll be amazed!
Hello Jason.
I just wanted to say thank you for listening to Jesus.
I just read your blog and listened to your last weeks sermon, I learn SO much! It’s kind of weird. I’m not used to actually remebering sermons. In most cases, I just remember the good ones (that probably sounds bad, but I don’t know how else to say it.) but I remember all of yours.
I love to learn, and I wanted to say thank you for teaching. It has blessed me. I hope to come back and visit soon.
Have a great week!
Brook
Brook,
It has been a pleasure getting to know you. Thanks for the encouraging words. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in and through you.
